The front side depicts the grotto at Lourdes, where the Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Bernadette Soubirous, with the words “Grotte Miraculeuse de N.D. de Lourdes” inscribed around the image. On the reverse side, the Virgin Mary stands in prayerful reverence, surrounded by stars, with the inscription “Je suis l’Immaculée Conception” (I am the Immaculate Conception) – the words she declared during her apparitions in 1858.
