Rare antique medal issued for the crowning of the French emperor Napoleon by Pope Pius VII in 1804. It was designed by artist Jean Ange Joseph Loque (1752-1835). He was established as a gold- and silversmith in Paris and specialized in liturgical & sacred vessel object, such as chalices. A rare and valuable medal!

& at the background decors of a city. 

On the reverse side is the portrait of Pope Pius VII

 

The medal was minted for the crowning of Napoleon in 1804 by Pope Pius VII
