Superb antique bronze art medal minted for the 1910 Universal Exposition of Brussels. It was designed by the famous Belgian artist Godefroid Devreese (1861-1941). This artist was not only a sculptor but also a medal and coin designer. He produced monuments, statues, busts, mythologic compositions, and fountains. Devreese minted more than 400 medals and was considered as an innovator. This medal is a fantastic addition for a collector of Devreese art or of Universal Expositions.

  representing the international jury of the exposition.

 At background decors of the town hall of Brussels (Belgium).

 

On the reverse side is an illustration of

Extra notes on this medal: It is interesting to know that only a few rare medals have the inscriptions engraved of actual winners of prizes at the 1910 Universal Exposition of Brussels. These medals were made in bronze, silver, or gilded. 15000 exemplars were minted, by tree different editors (Fonson made 6000, Michaux made 6000 and Fisch made 3000).
