Beautiful 19th-century antique medal of devotion to The Holy Family. The source of this veneration springs from the 17th century from the apparitions of Cotignac in France. Later on, Saint Francis de Laval introduced the glorification of the Holy Family in Canada (then named New France). The Holy Family is a model for Christian families and celebrated on the first Sunday after Christmas.
