Beautiful & rare antique silver medal from the Roman Catholic order of The Sisters of the Holy Infant Jesus. Founded in 1675 by Father Nicolas Barré in France. The order is focused on the education of children that are less fortunate. And established many schools all over the world. On the reverse side is the coat of arms armory crest with the motto in French : ” Simple in virtue – Steadfast in duty “. Rare & valuable!

Exceptional antique silver medal

from the Roman Catholic order of The Sisters of Holy Infant Jesus

 

Holy Virgin Mary standing on a globe + crescent + snake emanating from her rays of light & sided by cherubs angel heads

On the reverse side is the coat of arms armory crest of the order

and in French the motto: ” SIMPLE IN VIRTUE – STEADFAST IN DUTY ”

& the inscriptions: ” SHE IS MY MOTHER ”

 

The medal is dated: 25th of March 1935

& originates from: COUVENT DES DAMES DE ST MAUR

                              (the convent of the Ladies of St Maur in France)
