Extremely rare antique medal, both exceptional for its beauty and for the heavy load of Christian symbolism. Minted for a now extinguished brotherhood, the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament of La Bouverie. The pendant holds on both sides the budded cross and the crown of thorns. They represent respectively the Holy Trinity and the Passion of Christ. On the front side is the Immaculate Virgin represented as well on the Miraculous Medal. On the reverse side is the Blessed Sacrament with the Holy Chalice and the Host, which represent the Blood and Body of Jesus consecrated at the Eucharist. Antique medal, rare of beauty and symbolism, and very scarce as well.

Representation of Immaculate Virgin Mary of the Miraculous Medal

     in French the prayer: ” O Mary conceived without sin,

                                          pray for us who have recourse to thee “

 

Remark on both sides THE BUDDED CROSS & The Crown of Thorns surrounding

 

on the reverse side are the HOLY CHALICE and HOST

               the Blood and Body of Jesus consecrated during the Eucharist

 

 in French inscriptions all around:

   ” CONFRATERNITY OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT OF LA BOUVERIE “
