Beautiful vintage pilgrim’s pendant set with cloisonné enameling. Medal for the Belgian National Pilgrimage to Lourdes. Vivid blue color and fine cross-shaped oval medal. The pilgrimages to Our Lady of Lourdes started after the first miraculous healings that took place in 1869 and 1870.

in the sides cross arms are inscriptions in French & Dutch:

” NATIONAL PILGRIMAGE FROM BRUSSELS ”

below in Latin: ” AVE MARIA – GRATIA PLENA ”

meaning: Hail Mary, full of grace 

 

CONDITION: beautifully aged & intact enameling

SIZE: 43 mm height with the bail (or 1,70 inch)
